The College Park campus opened as Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia. Its mission is to provide a warm home for the seniors of the community, complete with high-quality skilled nursing care, recreational programming and all daily needs taken care of.
The Terrace Assisted Living opened with 71 apartments. Here, seniors can live with the perfect balance of independence and assistance. Memory care services are also offered by our sensitive, highly trained staff for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
As market trends make it increasingly harder for a standalone, non-profit senior healthcare community to survive financially, the BSV Board of Directors began looking for a suitable buyer.
After careful consideration and thorough research, an agreement was made with Green Tree Healthcare who shares BSV’s core values of compassion, caring, innovation, and accountability.
Green Tree Healthcare acquired the facilities that were previously Beth Sholom Village, renaming them Maimonides Healthcare Center & Village.
With extensive expertise in the senior living and healthcare industries, Green Tree has a reputation for supportive management, prioritizing personal and compassionate care.
Maimonides of Virginia Beach has a strong affiliation with the local Jewish community. Under its previous name Beth Sholom Village, it was supported by the community and The Auxiliary.
Under our new ownership, as before, we have a Rabbi on staff, and all meals are kosher.
Nevertheless, only a percentage of our current residents are Jewish and our aim is to provide the highest quality of care for people at a time in their life when they need it most- regardless of their race or religion. We are an inclusive, multicultural community, offering various services and celebrating festivals across all religions.
